Family Of Thieves Are Captured After Registering Stolen IPad
Osceola County, Kissimmee, FL – A family of thieves has been arrested in Kissimmee in connections to a burglary. Three adults, Mayra Lopez age 39, Magdalia Lopez age 42, and Felix Perez, and their two sons ages 14 and 17, stole around $8,000 worth of items and an Apple Ipad. Officials say that the burglary occurred on January 13 at their condo on Caravelle Circle, while the victims were on vacation from Venezuela.
What makes this Ipad stand out is this is how they were caught. The information on the Ipad had been changed which lead authorities to Mayra Lopez. Stacy Miller, of the Kissimme Police Department said, “Downloading new information on iPad, you have to change the user info, therefore, it sent an email to the existing user, so we were able to track the iPad that way.”
They searched Mayra’s home and then her sisters, Migdalia’s home, and found stolen items. According to officials, the 14 and 17 year old sons and the boyfriend of Mayra, Felix Lopez, helped to commit the burglary.
On Tuesday all Five people were arrested. The juveniles are charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property, while the adults are charged with grand theft.
